Myself and the good lady have taken ourselves out of the “normal” world to quite a large extent but at this time of year there’s just no escape from it….

I’m talking about the mass hysteria that is Christmas! 

I was in the local shop the other day and got sort of drawn into a Christmas conversation 

It was the usual thing - “have you got all your shopping done yet?” “My credit cards are maxxed out already!” 

“I’m doing every bit of overtime I can get to pay for it this year” 

You know the sort of thing. 

Now I’m not being all humbug about it - it’s a nice thing: Giving and receiving presents, spending time with the family and friends, a little bit of time off ….

But I don’t like the forced nature of it - the onslaught of consumption that many people just can’t afford but feel they have to do this massive blow out. 

When what you could actually be doing is just for one year - going easy on it and instead setting yourself up to live a little like that ALL THE TIME.

Putting yourself in the position to have as much time, money and freedom as you want - to do with what you will. 

Why just have this one festival of fun once a year? 

I get that the idea of cutting back to invest in a business doesn’t sound like a lot of fun in comparison but when that business could set you up for the rest of your life ……..

It’s got to be worth a shot - isn’t it?
