Do you commute to work?
I used to and I hated it most of the time. I always felt that nothing is
more guaranteed to set you up badly for the day than starting it with an hour or more of commuting.
The traffic, the stressed out people all desperately trying to get in for that all important 9am start. Crazy!
Some have it worse than others: I was talking to one of the guys from the band
I’ve just finished doing some recordings for on Friday night at the wrap party in their studio/rehearsal room.
He’s just been made redundant and was telling me that for the last 5 years he has commuted from here in Argyll to Glasgow 5 days per week.
If you can take the ferry that can be done in less than an
hour on a good day, but he had to go by road to get there in time. That’s a 70 mile drive each day on twisty country roads.
My neighbour actually does this too except he has to go much further 2 out 5 days when he goes from here to Grangemouth (120 miles each way!)
Seriously - this is crazy. Even if you are passionate about the work you do and are well rewarded for it, there are alternatives these days.
You can start an online business for starters and
that can be based on whatever you currently do if that’s what you want.
The guy in the band for example is involved in skills training for “problematic” young people. He was made redundant because no one is prepared to fund this adequately.
This is a perfect example of something that could be
brought online. And as I said to him, the most useful skills to be teaching young people - anyone in fact - right now, are digital skills.
When you’ve got those you can kiss goodbye to commuting for one thing. Unless you count walking from one room to another in your house!
And don’t forget - your house can be anywhere you want to be.
The Six Figure Mentors and Digital Experts Academy are one of the few private organisations teaching this on the cutting edge.
Right now you can look into this
for free and see first hand what it could do for you (HERE)
Stop commuting and start living!
Cheers!
