I’ve been doing some music recording work with a local band recently and after a overdub session last Friday night I had a interesting conversation with one of the band’s founders…..

We were talking technology and how amazing (though sometimes frustrating it is) and I was telling him a little about what I do for a living.

When I told him I’d made close to $10K last month and that I’ve made more than that in a single month he said...

“Man - You really are living dream!” 

Although I kind of agree I was a little dumbfounded as I really think he is! 

He makes a living as a chainsaw artist and is well known for it. He has orders coming out of his ears and his designs have been praised from Scotland to Russia! 

His real passion though is for music and he has built a studio/rehearsal room in the grounds of his home and workshop that is pretty amazing. 

But he told me that the one thing he doesn’t have enough of is TIME.

A common complaint - even for people who you would think have it all. 

Most people I have this conversation with have a passion they would love to have more time to spend on. 

But they have to devote the vast majority of their time doing something else to pay the bills, squeezing the passion in to whatever TIME they can find. 

Whenever I spend time with fellow SFMers either at live events or online I realise that TIME is the reason we are all on this journey.
