last week I found a tick in the back of my right knee. Not the first time for me as I live in the countryside, so I just carefully pulled it out, dabbed on some TCP and thought no more about
it.
(If you don’t know what a tick is and aren’t too squeamish - Google it)
Next day however my leg had swollen up massively and was sore and itchy. Time for a visit to the doc!
He prescribed a 2 week course of
strong antibiotics - to stave off Lime’s disease and bring down the swelling.
Trouble is those also have some nasty side effects which made it necessary for me to be very near a toilet ….If you know what I mean!
Anyway, uncomfortable, inconvenient and crap (literally and metaphorically) this has been it hasn’t
stopped me from taking care of business.
Back when I was working in business development I would have had to take a few days off.
There is no way I could have commuted, driven to and from meetings or been much use at all.
As the pills started to work the itchiness became unbearable and I spent a lot of time either scratching the area or applying creams and potions to try and calm it down.
Not a good look in a sales meeting! Neither is bolting for the nearest loo mid sentence! LOL
But when you are
the boss and you work from home - who cares. I just spent a few days dressed in the loosest old trousers I could - or shorts - and got on with it.
Just another advantage of being your own boss in an online enterprise.
Cheers!
