I’m constantly amazed by people who tell me they desperately want to change their lives but get all out of joint when they realise doing that doesn’t come free???

I mean if there ever, in the history of the world has been a real, sustainable business that got started free I challenge them to name it. 

They can’t. 

Then, if the conversation goes any further, I ask them to cast an eye over some areas that they willingly spend on money on whilst saying they cant afford to start a business….

That’s pretty revealing. 

Here are a few examples:

Commuting - imagine you didn’t have to (home business) how much would you save?

Eating Out - Lunch during work, Starbucks coffee, evening takeaways, restaurants

Alcohol - However little or much you spend on it is your business but for most people its an easy one to cut back on and also provides other benefits beyond saving cash.

Taxis - As above - I know plenty of people who would pay £20 on a taxi rather than wait half an hour for a bus or walk a few miles. 

Cigarettes - when I quit that (okay I still have the occasional fag but not a pack a day) I saved £10 per day - £70 per week - £280 per month - £3360 per year! 

That saving alone went a long way to financing my online business in year 1.

We could add plenty more here - unused Gym memberships, hobbies, clothes ……

But you get the picture.

And I’m not suggesting for a moment that anyone should give up every pleasure they have permanently (although some might be a great idea) 

My point is that starting a business that has the potential to completely transform your life does require some sacrifice of both time and money.

But these are probably the most worthwhile sacrifices you could ever make.

No-one in their right mind who wanted to start a traditional business - say a restaurant - would expect someone to hand them the premises, staff, equipment and ingredients for free
