Last week a very sad thing happened which made me (as I often do) think about how important living in the now is. And how important it is to live the life you really want in the now.
A 12 year old boy got off the school bus on the beautiful shore road near where we live and was hit by an oil tanker. He died in hospital a short time later.
My partner and I were out walking a couple of miles away and wondered what all the sirens were about - very unusual in a quiet place like this.
A couple of days later we walked past the place where it
happened and were deeply moved by the sea of floral tributes that have been left there.
There was a football there with a message written on it by a friend and lots of other touching notes and other items of personal meaning.
My partner and I have both been in road accidents but obviously survived. It could easily have been different though - especially in my
case.
The point is that as a Scottish saying goes - “You never know the minute”.
None of us know how long we’ve got and my own belief is that there is nothing to come after we’re gone.
So all we have for sure is the now.
And it’s almost a crime to
waste a second of it doing things you’d rather not be doing.
Especially at this point in our evolution when there are proven ways to create happy, fulfilled lives - not just for ourselves - but for others too.
It’s what we do now - in this life - that counts.
I know this one of the prime motivations for SFM and
DEA founders Stuart and Jay that keeps them inspiring and empowering others.
Find out how they can help you start living in the now here
Cheers!
