On Friday evening I popped along to see a local band who’ve asked me to do some recording and production for them.
When I got to the place they rehearse I was blown away.
Its basically a large wooden building set behind Andy’s - (one of the band member’s) house and workshop - he makes a very good living creating wooden sculptures and furniture - with a chainsaw.
The setting, just off a forrested
country road is beautiful, and the driveway up to the workshop and studio is lines with examples of Andy’s work.
The band area is fully set up so that the band can just come in and start playing - loud as they want and as long as they want as they aren’t disturbing anyone.
It’s the kind of place any band would
give almost anything for. I’m looking forward to recording them.
Why am I telling you this?
Really its because I’m always stuck at how together some people are when they have the freedom to live the lives they want to.
In Andy’s case he’s been able to do it through his incredible creative talents but he’s also an entrepreneur.
We got on pretty well, having so much in common as musicians and entrepreneurs (though in different ways)
KIndred spirits recognise each other and I’ve found that to be the case
with SFM and DEA members when I’ve attended live events.
It’s all about having an insatiable drive to live life on your own terms
SFM just provide a way for most people (with or without existing creative or entrepreneurial skills) to do that by leveraging the modern world we all live
in.
The current free trail offer that SFM are offering makes me think of that enviable practice room I saw on Friday.
Most people who seriously wanted to start lifestyle business would jump at the chance!
