I was about to write a en email ad this morning which started with “Now that the vast majority of people have had this year’s holiday”……

But I stopped to think about that whole “vast majority” thing. 

I’ve always wondered which came first: Do most people actually have the same want’s desires, motivations, ambitions?

Or are we encouraged to be like that from an early age? 

After all for hundreds of years now, in what we call the civilised world at least, every single one of us has been born into a ready made world.

It has all the buildings we could ever need, all the systems are in place to give us food, warmth, light, entertainment, safety…… all our needs are catered for 

And all we need to do is follow the plan - and guess what? There are systems in  place for that too! 

Education systems, that lead to employment, security, happiness……

……..AS long as you are part of the vast majority

But ironically none of what we take for granted would have been possible without the minority of people who refuse to be part of that vast majority:

The creators, the builders, the leaders, the entrepreneurs.

The exciting thing about now is that the internet and the technology that has grown up with it makes it much easier to be in that minority sweet spot.

After all - isn’t it better to be outside the machine looking at it and working out how to make it better than to be just one of the component parts - replaced when you wear out? 

I suppose if I had to sum up who SFM and DEA are for I could say that they are for those of us who are not content to be part of the vast majority.
