The sheer explosion of opportunity the digital economy and the internet have and are creating never cease to amaze me 

Just today I came across a site that like Airbnb and Uber offer a new way to make money.

You can now - through a website called Turo - rent out your car when you're not using it.

So far it seems to be available in a the USA but if it gets as popular as Uber or Airbnb it’ll soon be everywhere. 

And like those two it’s part of the digital revolution and will possibly be a threat to traditional car hire organisations in time. 

More and more now, hugely profitable, International businesses are run entirely online with very few staff or overheads. 

This is the big picture that SFM and DEA are educating people to be part of. 

It’s not JUST about starting an online business - its about future proofing for the inevitable.

Here in the UK for example Barclays Bank group have shed 8000 jobs in the last 4 months, closing over 200 branches and with more on the way. 

 The Oil and gas industry here in Scotland is suffering too with hundreds of jobs gone and more going.

Just as oil and Gas will one day run out and we need to find alternatives - many of our traditional, long established industries will also either cease to exist or will need to change.

So we need to take personal responsibility for arming ourselves with the skills, tools and mindsets that allow us to take advantage of the massive Opportunities that are here now and those that are coming. 

That is the real point of SFM and DEA and its what keeps me aligned with them. 

It’s evolution and it can’t be stopped.
