I took part in a business survey by phone yesterday on behalf of the Highlands And islands development council. 

They called at the right time - I had just written a blog post on running an online business in rural areas, and I had 10 minutes to spare.

It’ll be of interest if your bucket list includes say: Getting away from the city, living by the sea, living closer to nature - all that stuff.

There are lots of misconceptions about problems with internet connections in the more remote places. Since as I live in one and run an online business there, I wanted to smash some of them!

The fact is that there so many advantages to living rural and running an online business offers an ideal way to do it. 

As I say in the blog, it’s a win win situation all round - good for you and good for rural economies.
