Man there really is no worst way to start the day than with a dose of mindless bureaucracy!
I won’t bore you with the details but suffice to say I’ve been trying to sort out a problem with our utilities supplier since we moved into this house back in October
2015.
I’ve had the same conversation with them now 7 times. Each time I’m apologetically assured it will sorted out and each time it isn’t.
I actually have an image of the conversation just being swept into the bin or the alleged recording of the call being erased.
This is one of the reasons I think that the traditional economy is in so much trouble. Companies get too big, employ the cheapest low skilled staff they can find and give them minimum training.
I happen to know that this particular energy company is in the process of putting systems in place that will replace a lot of the human
element.

about the rise of automation
The transition is causing a ton of problems and in fact they have been fined £18million and ordered to pay it to customers who have experienced their tragic level of service.
You can just imagine how much the call centre staff must
love knowing that their jobs will soon be at risk and how this reflects on their attitude to their work.
But this is the way things are going - towards automation.
Which is why its a good idea to get on the right side of the technological “wave” or s SFM Co-founder Jay Kubassek puts it - “To ride on top of the
wave rather being swamped by it”.
You do that by acquiring the appropriate skills - as taught by SFM and DEA.
It’s a widely acknowledged fact that over the next few years any job or task that can be done by a computer or by automation - will be - and that now covers a surprising range.
If I worked in a call centre right now for example I’d be worried.
I put the video “Humans Need Not Apply” on my website a while ago. If you haven’t seen it it’s well worth a look
