I just want to share a little resource with you today that will save you a lot of hassle if you have any Wordpress websites.
Its a security plugin called - Wordfence
I’d
recommend you get it and put it to work protecting your site. The free version is great and their paid versions too, providing additional layers of security from hackers.
Why is this important?
To give you an idea. I get around 100 emails per day from Wordfence, each letting me know that they have prevented
someone from logging into one of my websites.
This morning I had over 1000 such emails. It’s a pain but it’s easy to delete the emails.
Why do people try to hack into websites? (Usually with robot software)
Various reasons -
they can use your website’s domain to send out thousands of spam emails that appear to come from you.
Badness/disruption - Sad but true. There are a lot of broken people out there that just want to bring things down.
Hence why it’s vital to protect ourselves online with resources like
Wordfence.
I must also say that I have a huge advantage in that all my sites are hosted within the SFM’s Digital Business Lounge.
That means if Wordfence fails (very rare) I have a team of world class techs on the case almost instantly so that disruption to my business is minimal.
Be safe folks
Cheers!
