In these emails I’m constantly stressing the freedom aspect of running an online business.
One of those freedoms is
freedom of choice: Choosing when and where you work and live is the biggest one for me.
But choices often come with a price.
In this case my partner and I decided A. To move to the seaside in a quiet, rural part of
Scotland and B. to get back into owning and looking after cats - our last two died at the age of 14 and 23 a couple of years back.
We decided not to take on pets again until we were in a place that could offer them much more freedom and safety than a city centre location could.
Long story short we now have two cats
again. One is now 10 months old - a big strong male who spends most of his time outdoors and just a week ago a tiny kitten.
The big guy is being quite aggressive - even with what he considers play - to the little lady.
So we can’t leave them alone together for a while yet. Normally I work at home but my partner is
out most of the day most days at the moment teaching people to drive.
Long story short ….
That means I’m not able to go to New York this weekend to join loads of friends and fellow SFMers at Momentum day - that’s the price.
I
do go to as many of the UK events as possible and they are phenomenal but this weekend’s event - the first in the Big Apple looks like being the best ever.
I’m gutted that I can’t go but that’s the way it is - there’s always a next time.
I hope those of you that are members are able to go and just sorry I won’t
be able to spend some time with you there.
I don’t know any online company that does as many live events as SFM and DEA do - certainly none that do events the way these guys do them. So I’ll comfort myself by watching my own Momentum day video which I put together after last January’s event in London - and by catching all the social media stuff coming on from NY this
weekend.
Here’s a link to my video if you’d like to get a flavour.
Cheers!
