One of the things that running an internet or digital business really highlights is that there really is no relationship between time and money…..

We are brought up and educated to believe that TIME = MONEY aren’t we…

So from an early age we buy into this idea that we will be paid according to how much of our time we sacrifice to a job or traditional business.

We learn that the only ways to get paid more is to either spend a lot more time and money on a college or university education so that we can get better rates of pay for our time

Or 

We can just give up more of our time by either working overtime if that’s available, or by taking on a second job.

This might have been true years ago and in fact its what I did for many years, but the plain truth is that now its a broken, ridiculous and frankly stupid notion. 

The internet really is a whole different world - almost a parallel universe where time and money have no binding ties on each other. 

It about leveraging, being creative and mastering the skills needed.

As a member of SFM and DEA I actually know many of the top internet entrepreneurs in the business and without exception they have come from the TIME = MONEY mindset too.

They were working themselves to the bone and finding that although it might have been working financially it was killing them slowly in every other way: Health, happiness, fulfilment.

The thing is if you’re a hard working person anyway and you discover a way to work less hard for more money so that you have more time and energy to spend on your passions or with friends and family - you grab it with both hands!
