Had a nice chat with my neighbour yesterday. When I got back from the post office he was standing with his daughter and his motorbike at the top of our drive.
Not long after we first moved in here he helped get rid of the old kitchen we had just replaced and we had a long chat. This being a very quiet place we don’t see the neighbours, or anyone else for that matter very often.
We basically live in the same building - it’s an old victorian mansion that was converted into 2, 3 bedroom
houses and 2 small apartments. We have the top 3 bdrm house and he has the bottom one.
There is a road above the house and one below
Our two larger houses have their own large, secluded gardens but the title deeds allow my neighbour to use the path through our garden to the road above where he garages his bike
in a friends garage.
They also give us a similar right to use their path.
Apparently the previous owners of our house took exception to the neighbour’s (very occasional) use of this right - to the point where threats were made and fences were built.
My partner and I on the other hand have no problem with this whatsoever. Partly because life is too short and partly because I used to be a biker too.
It’s just about being neighbourly - mutual respect.
And actually on a much bigger scale
thats what internet marketing is about too - particularly the way SFM teach it - in the form of attraction marketing.
It’s not in your face, intrusive or annoying in any way.
Its a bit like being neighbourly - you might see your neighbour struggling with something and suggest a solution for
example.
The internet kind of makes everyone in the world your neighbour and it makes running an online business that offers solutions to people a very neighbourly kind of business.
Don’t know about you but I really love that.
