At the end of the day in its simplest terms a business is just selling something for more than it cost.
You can do it the hard way or the easy way. You can make a little profit or a lot of profit every time you sell something.
Hard Way: I really love a UK TV programme called “Wheeler Dealers”. In it a used car expert and his business partner, a seriously talented mechanic (pictured)buy, restore and resell old
cars.
Usually they make a modest profit but sometimes they just break even or make a very slight profit - occasionally they lose out.
That’s hard work.
When you consider the costs and the hours and
hours of work that goes into the process there is no way they would ever come out on top if they hadn’t added some smarts into the deal by making it into TV programme and selling that.
That way they get to indulge their passion for keeping nice old cars on the road.
The easy way: Selling goods and services that you don’t even own on the internet. (Affiliate marketing)
Now that’s smart.
No premises or specialist equipment needed, no or very small up front
costs compared to the profits that can be made.
No need to produce marketing materials, store or manage the products and very little time needed to generate sales.
No long hours of toil - you leverage automation so that the work is done on autopilot even when you sleep or are on holiday.
Now that’s working smart.
If you took the TV element (the smart bit) Out of the Wheeler Dealer’s business and asked them why they do
it they probably say “Well it’s all we know”
My answer would be - Learn something smarter. That way you have more time to indulge the passion and more funds to fuel it.
We live in times where that’s entirely possible and not that difficult to do. With the right training, systems
and products.
With SFM and DEA you get all that and more - no wheeling and dealing required!
