There goes another week …
I’ll end this week with one of my favourite quotes from one of my favourite authors Robert
Kiyosaki.
I read all the time. It’s a mixed bag. I love American Crime fiction, some sci-fi, some non-fiction and of course a lot of personal development books.
This year, on the personal development front I’ve loved and would recommend: “Mastery” by Robert Greene, “Influence” by Robert Cialdini and “The Alchemist”
by Paulo Coelho (recommended to me by Stuart Ross)
I’ve also re-read “Think and Grow Rich” by Napoleon Hill and Rich Dad Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki.
Although I respect books like “The Secret” I get more out of the less esoteric stuff like Robert Kiyosaki. Just because, for me he offers more practical business
wisdom.
It has taken me some time to “Get” the quote above but now that I have, it stands by me on a daily basis whenever I have a decision to make.
I definitely did spend a lot of years thinking that cutting my expenses would help me get what I wanted. Now I look on expenses as investments.
I still don’t splash the cash on my business without thinking it through carefully - I’m Scottish! but I did finally admit that if I could have done it my own I probably would have.
That was when I was trying to decide whether to upgrade my SFM and DEA position to Gold. Actually before then it was when I was trying to decide whether to
join in the first place.
Both of these expenses however have paid for themselves many times over. So did that Les Paul Guitar I bought, so did that Canon camera I bought.
You just have to decide that if you spend the money you are going to Commit - you ARE going to do the work.
That is the secret to success.
Hope you had a great weekend!
Cheers!
