Found out early this morning that one of my heroes David Bowie has passed away. 

He was one of these rare people that seem to be with you through your whole life. Since my early teens he was there as a creative inspiration. 

Always on the cutting edge of music, art, film and just generally a true individual who always did things his way. 

He also encouraged and supported many talented people, working as he did with the hottest new talent throughout his long and incredible career. 

He championed new technology, constant change and progress.

The message he leaves me is that we only get one life and we owe it to ourselves and the world to live it to the max. 

Few people do. 

We are not all born with the buckets of talent David Bowie was but we all have something unique in us. 

No matter what that is it still takes work and dedication to build the life we want - to follow our passions and not to settle for the status Quo. 

So today I’m sad but I’m also celebrating a great life that’s certainly enriched mine for many years.

We can’t all be “Aladdin Sane” - but we can be “Pretty Things” in our own way
