I can’t help noticing just how many digital skills jobs are being advertised and filled in very different ways.
I’m not
interested in a job myself but I can see how many people would be - it’s a fun industry to work in .
I’m subscribed to a number of lists and have received a number of job application emails recently just because I’m on those lists.
The lists in question are from People who’s products I use or whose blogs I
read. Since these are all closely related to the internet industry it’s a really smart way for them to recruit:
They know that anyone who is using their very specific products or is getting value from their blogs and content is probably a good candidate.
Two of the most recent ones asked applicants to shoot a 1
minute video explaining why they would be ideal for the job.
Many of the jobs in the online industry are done remotely (from home) so it’s entirely possible that employee might not ever meet their employer if they are on different sides of the world.
SFM and DEA also work this
way
These are full time, well salaried jobs by the way. It’s just the new way of recruiting from within - but without the backstabbing, climbing over your peers, ingratiating yourself with “superiors “corporate mindset.
This is the new face of our world and it backs up 3
of the things I tend to bang on about:
1. Everything we are used to is changing in the digital economy.
2. If you have the skills needed your services will be in constant demand and you will be completely independent - in full control of your income and time.
3. It’s a wonderful world!
Cheers
