Quite a few years ago now my band did a small support tour with a band called All About Eve - you might remember them if you're old enough - they had a big hit called Martha’s harbour in the
90’s
Anyway they had reformed and were doing a comeback tour - I sent a demo of our band, they liked us and offered us 4 dates on their UK tour. It was a fantastic few weeks and we got to know them a bit as we often stayed in the same hotels and shared dressing rooms.
I’d been a massive fan of their first
2 albums (something to do with their singer Julianne no doubt - but some of their songs got me through some bad times)
One night when we were all having a drink I mentioned this to Julianne and mentioned a few songs in particular. I has assumed they were really heartfelt, meaningful words.
She was very nice about it but she did say that she had hated those songs!
Turns out at the style of songs and the image they became known for - wistful, folky rock with a touch of mystery was all created for them by their record company.
The band were more into harder,
gothy rock and the record company’s manipulation of them led to their break up….. oops!
But it goes to show again - never make assumptions.
Many people assume that you need technical,
geeky skills to build websites, create fancy graphics, shoot videos and write blogs.
That might have been true once upon a time but nothing could be further from the truth these days - especially with turnkey tools and step by step systems like you get with SFM
Check it out for yourself to
see what I mean - with a risk free application you get 30 days to see what’s included in membership - if you don’t like what you see I’ll be amazed but you will get a no questions asked refund of your measly $29.95 application fee.
Cheers
