It never ceases to amaze me just how many opportunities are out their these days for people with new economy
skills: Digital marketing - digital skills in general.
Yesterday I spent a great few hours with an old client of mine from my days as a business development manager for an audio visual company.
He was then the director of a motorsport PR company and I organised an event with him for the launch of Austin
Healey’s new sports car at the Goodwood festival of speed.
During our meetings (one of which was at the HQ of the company building the car - they also make parts for F1 cars) we got quite friendly.
That was 10 years ago and since then we have kept in touch from time to time.
He got in touch last week telling me he had left the PR company because they were so far behind with their digital marketing.
He had been following my progress with online businesses and wanted to discuss how I could help him with several new ventures.
He drove through from Glasgow yesterday and we talked things through.
One is with a freight company the other with a friend of his who makes and sells hand made wooden furniture (he’s a skilled carpenter)
There are lots of ways I can help with these and it looks like a few more
income streams for both of us.
18 months ago I’d just have referred him to someone else but with all the skills, tools and resources I have gained since I’m more than capable of doing it all myself.
That’s all thanks to SFM and of course my own hard work in learning and
applying what they teach and provide.
