Yesterday myself and my other half travelled over the mainland for the first time since we moved to the countryside near
the sea.
We had a few things to do and people to see - and we had a new kitten to collect for my partner’s birthday.
Pretty much as soon as we left the ferry and got on the main roads towards Glasgow we felt incredibly lucky that we don’t have to use these roads much anymore.
The tail-gating, the aggression and the frankly dangerous driving we saw reminded us of why we had to get away from it. Then the traffic jams and congestion, pollution and litter in the city centre - no thanks!
We even decided to take the long way home after collecting our new furry friend so that we could avoid rush hour
traffic.
So we drove back down the Ayrshire coast which we can see across the water from our window at home - this time we were on the opposite side looking across at the peninsula we now call home.
In the past, as many people do, where we have lived has been a comprise. We’ve had to stay reasonably close to
our jobs for a start. Not anymore!
Probably the single biggest advantage of earning a living online is that it frees you from these kind of restrictions.
Whatever your idea of the perfect place to live happens to be you can have it in this new economy.
Doesn’t matter where you live anymore - you can choose - and you no longer need to spend the bulk of your time doing things you hate to pay for it anymore.
What’s not to like?
Cheers!
