I was talking briefly to the guy down the road from us who is building a house. 

It’s been an amazing process to watch. We’ve only been here for 2 months and in that time he and a very small team have pretty much got the shell of a large house built. The roof is on, the windows are in and they’ve done quite a bit on the interior.

My neighbour said they are trying to get it as near live-in as possible before the winter comes along but that they haven’t really gone much faster than normal for a build of this size.

That’s because they use modern materials and building methods. For the same reasons the house will also be more energy efficient, cheaper to heat and less harmful to the environment.  

I’ve even heard of people being paid by energy companies because they are generating more electricity and heat than they use. That’s because they built using new materials and incorporated every energy saving and producing technology available. 

The world is always slow to react to change whether that be to new ways to build things or anything else that’s been done a certain way for too long - “We’ve always done it that way!”  

Change will always happen despite our resistance to it.

But it always has to be led by a a few “blue sky thinkers” that show the rest of us the way. They go out there and test things for us.

Then they put it all together in a form we can easily use - and they make a fortune along the way. 

But everyone wins because we get amazing, modern products, services and learning without having had to do the groundwork or take the big risks. 

They prove what's possible and then show us how to do it.

I often describe SFM and DEA in these terms: Affiliate marketing is the tried and tested business model but they provide the new ways to make it an easier business to build and much more solid when it’s built.
