Does it?
What do you think about
that old saying?
It's usually said after a chain of events with the benefit of hindsight and in my opinion it's always the result of you taking action.
It does seem sometimes like everything just seemed to line up for you after you took a
certain action or a certain thing happened (good or bad)
The Scottish version of the saying is "What's for you, won't go by you" meaning if it's meant to be it will happen it will, if it isn't it won't.
The Spanish version is "Que Sera Sera" - what will be will
be.
I'm not in any position to argue with those old sayings - I've certainly been through a series of events recently that would seem to support them but I will argue that a conscious decision set them all in motion.
And that it always does.
If we hadn't done this - that wouldn't have happened....
If we hadn't been there we wouldn't have met ….
If the bad thing hadn't happened then all the good things that followed wouldn't have happened…
It goes on and on and you can trace everything that has happened in your adult life to decisions - choices - you made - one leading to
another.
The other truth is that if you don't make choices and decisions for yourself, someone else will make them for you.
I remember going along to my first SFM Momentum day in London and meeting Jay Kubassek.
One of the many things he said at the event that has stuck with me ever since was "You are exactly where you need to be right now".
He was right - I was in a room full of inspiring and inspired modern entrepreneurs from all over the world and had just met one of the most
successful digital entrepreneurs in the world.
The thing is - I made the decision to be - exactly where I needed to be right then.
And so can you.
Start what could be the most rewarding chain of events in your life today.
Cheers
