My mother was given a tablet for her birthday recently and she's been struggling to get to grips with all it's possibilities. 

I try and help her out whenever I visit. I was showing her how to use Skype the other day and it occurred to me that I take all these things for granted these days.

I'm in constant communication with members and associates all over the world  on multiple platforms.

I use Skype, Google hangouts, Facebook, Facetime, What's app, Go To Webinar, Zoom and Sococo on an almost daily basis.

Honest truth though - I wasn't even aware of most of them 18 months ago.

I encourage my subscribers to get in touch with me on Skype all the time - assuming they know how to.  But when I was showing mum how to set it up I realised maybe they don't.

So in case you don't, here's a quick and easy guide to setting it up. If you have broadband already it costs you nothing to use - I use it more than phones these days. 

Just go to http://skype.com and follow the instructions to instal it on your computer, tablet or phone - or all of them ! 

Hit "Get Skype" , choose what you want to instal it on and fill out the form with your details. 

Choose your user name and password and that's about it. 

Then when you open Skype you can search for people you know and add them to your contacts. 

Now you can talk to people all over the world for free. You can use video and see each other if you like. You can just talk without the camera or you can just text like on a smartphone.  

You can also share your screen, send files and leave messages (video or just audio) 

It's brilliant !
