Here's a real life example of how much the internet is changing is our world and the way we do business. 

We have just sold our house - online. 

Not only that we did in in less than 2 weeks and achieved above the asking price. 

This in a housing market which is apparently in a bad place and at a price much higher than other similar properties have achieved recently.

We are not paying an estate agent a percentage of the sale price. We paid a set price and didn't even use one of those For Sale boards stuck to a window. 

Not to pick on estate agents but really they do very little for their money in our experience. YOu pay for their expenses basically - the rent and rates on their shops  and the salaries of their staff. 

The online agent we used is a small firm working from home. They came to see us and took some very good photos - I'm a photographer so I know the difference. 

They then asked us to choose 14 or so pics from the 70 they took. Then they put the  online ad together and posted it on all the usual Property sites - the same ones an Offline agent uses. 

I asked if I could use the images in a video (i was planning to produce a video to complement their marketing but there was no need)  

I had a long conversation with the agent about digital marketing and he was pretty clued up. That's why his business is thriving and why he gets great results.

How many other businesses are losing out to people like him who have learned how to function on the internet? How many over the next 10 or 20 years? 

That's why what SFM are doing is so important. They are making it simple for anyone to get those skills.
