ZMOT - Zero Moment of Truth is a phrase coined by Google to describe how the internet has utterly changed the way we
buy things - and why that makes running an online business such a good idea…
I heard it explained yesterday when I was watching the Gold Youtube training I mentioned to you.
To sum it up. In the old world of traditional business your first moment of truth - the
moment when you decide to buy something involved you going to a shop to buy it. - To be sold it in fact.
The only way manufacturers could get you to the store was to spend fortunes on advertising in the hope that they would eventually succeed in making you seek out their product rather than someone else's.
Now though "the moment of truth" comes when someone goes online to research a product after seeing an ad. So more and more a buying decision is made at that stage.
So in other words we are able to do our research online now and decide at that point which product is right for us. Even if we have to go
offline to buy it.
Don't know about you but I've been doing that for a few years now.
Can you see the impact this already having on the way business is done and money is made?
If we provide the right information for people on the internet they won't have to drive through traffic jams on rainy days to visit shops where they are pounced on by desperate sales people.
If you can't buy it online you'll just order it from the store or warehouse and pick it up at a convenient time.
As I see it you can either get with the program and learn how to thrive in this new "ZMOT" economy or stay behind as more an more traditional jobs and business fall by the wayside.
