Hi
“But there are already tons of guitar courses out there aren’t there - how will yours make any money?”
Said my partner the other day.
And to be fair I’ve heard the same question asked about affiliate marketing
It highlights a couple of common misunderstandings about internet marketing:
1. Saturation. The assumption that there’s a limit to the number of customers any online course or product can have. I suppose that technically there is - but its going to be a very very high number and therefore not a real problem.
There are literally billions of people shopping online at any given moment.
2. Competition: The assumption that if you create something or become an affiliate for something in an established niche, the competition will be too much for you to gain a foothold.
Th truth is that even though internet marketing is not a face to face thing, people still buy people. Especially in video marketing.
When I look for Youtube tutorials on pretty much anything, I always find plenty to choose from. But I quickly filter through them to find one I can relate to.
It’s known as attraction marketing
Whether it’s the voice, the backdrop, the editing, the teaching style or something else, something clicks. These also tend to be the people I’ll subscribe to, comment on and possibly buy something from down the line.
So never be afraid to be an affiliate for something you believe in or to create something you love. There are plenty of people out there looking for what you’ve got (if its good) and who will chime with you rather than A.N Other.
It helps if you are coming at things from a slightly different angle as I’m doing with my guitar course.
And with affiliate marketing you are really just a bridge from the customer to the product
Anyone who likes the look of your bridge (safe, trustworthy, short……) will walk across it
Bests
