Hi
Which kind of person are you? A today person, a tomorrow person or a now person?
Personally I can be any of the three but the one I’ve found most useful is the latter
I learned the value of just doing it now instead of putting things off till an unspecified later from a correspondence course by a famous oldies singer called Dec Cluskey
He fronts the band The Bachelors who were big in the 60’s and actually i believe still tread the boards today
He suggested getting the letters D.I.N (do it now) stuck in your head so that they come up automatically when you recognise that you are about to put something off till later.
I do it all the time ever since. Sometimes its a pain in the ass but I’m always glad I did it
For instance this morning for various reasons I found myself up and around at 7am. I knew I needed to bottle my latest 6 gallon batch of beer soon but just decided to DIN
Its a tedious process involving sterilising 40 bottles then syphoning off the beer into them one by one, adding finishing sugar and then cleaning everything again.
But using the DIN method I had it done and dusted by 9am. Fantastic - ready for Christmas!
In one pf my favourite books - The Power of Now - the author Eckhart Tolle expands on the idea and stresses that really all we have is now, but the DIN principle is a great way to start
This week I’ve suggested you take a free trial of SFM’s incredible system, community and online business mentoring programmes
If you haven’t then here is an opportunity to practice DIN ……
Have a lovely weekend
Bests
Dave
